Navy has no plan for overseas bases

BEIJING: A stronger Chinese navy will not seek to build military bases overseas, a retired senior officer has said amid media reports that the country harbors such "ambitions".
Zhang Deshun, who was till recently the deputy chief of staff of the PLA navy, said a naval force with advanced armaments and enhanced capabilities will contribute more to UN-led anti-terrorism, anti-piracy and disaster-relief missions.
A larger navy with a greater reach does not mean it will seek to play the role of "world police", said the retired rear admiral, who is a deputy to the ongoing session of the National People's Congress.

It is okay to practice more than one style? I mean what if I take a Hatha yoga class and practice some ashtanga style routines at home (which are little bit more dynamic)? are there any negative effects?
you can practice as many as you want.

i would recommend, though, that when you are beginning, you stick with one alignment family. gosh/sivananda and krishnamacharya have different alignments of the same poses (two different ways of doing triangle, for example). so, it is helpful to stay with one "family" to learn that alignment, and then eventually, study the other "family" as well.

but, if you don't know the difference right now, that's ok too. jut enjoy yourself.
Ever since starting up my home practice I have mixed different yoga styles and actually practice a hybrid rather than a strict adherence to a certain school.

Mostly I am grounded in Anusara which is based on Iyengar but I have adopted some Ashtanga mostly using the sun salutations as a warm up. I believe yoga to be one and the varying methods seem to differ more in focus and detail than in kind. So I have no problem mixing things up, in fact I prefer it.

Do you think it is right to eat during a yoga class? One teacher freaked and yelled and cursed at a student just because that student was eating Oreos during the class when everyone was supposed to be in childs pose. What's so bad about dunking oreos in milk in a class anyway? Oreos are good.
Assuming your post is for real:
While freaking, yelling and cursing are all inappropriate during a class of ANY kind, especially a yoga class and especially by the teacher (who should be setting a good example of behavior), eating is also unacceptable for a variety of reasons. 1) You should have an empty stomach while practicing yoga so that your blood is going to your muscles and not to your digestive tract 2) Doing any non yoga task during a yoga class is disrespectful to the other students, and the teacher as it takes focus away from the yoga poses (which is why you are there) 3) A yoga practice room needs to be clean and sanitary (since the students are putting all parts of their body on the floor) and food and milk in such a place would only increase all kinds of bacteria. 4) While doing yoga poses, you should be breathing deeply and evenly (so you can relax and stretch your muscles without injury) and focusing on what is going on in your body (so you gain self-understanding and avoid injury). This cannot be done while dunking and eating Oreos.

If the teacher had everyone doing Child's pose, it probably was a necessary counter pose to the pose that went before and everyone would benefit from doing it. Whoever was eating in this class probably did not yet have the maturity to be taking a yoga class or maybe didn't want to be there in the first place and was therefore acting out.

The consumption of anything besides small amounts of water in a yoga class is counterproductive to that individual as well as the class. This includes chewing gum.

I do not agree with your assessment that "Oreos are good" as they are junk food without nutritional content that are extremely high in refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup and unhealthy fats, all of which are damaging to your health.

Yoga Breathing: Prana (Life Energy) -Ayama (Stretch, Action of Control). Our study and mastery of breath is the foundation of yoga class and the basis of yoga instruction.

Bringing vitality and health, our breath physically moves the body's energy through it's pathways. This controls the function of the body's systems and our mental-physical balance.
I notice since starting up my pranayama practice I am much more aware of my breathing during asana. It seems more deep, rhythmic and in sync with the movements. It is a conscious awareness that was not as prevalent before.

Also, during the course of a day I notice I am catching myself before I get into a stressful mood or become angry or impatient. So, instead of falling into those traps I am finding the awareness to remain calm and chill out.

I am really struggling with some choices before me and woudl love some suggestions from everyone out there!

I've nearly completed my 200 hour teacher training in Ashtanga. I'm certified in children's yoga (Hatha) as well.

I do plan on registering with YA- I figure I can drop it later if it proves to serve no purpose for me.

I have an opportunity to participate in three different programs over the next year, but must choose only one for now. And it will be a few years before I can take either of the other courses.

So... I ask for your opinions:

1. HHP (State certified Holistic Health Practitioner)- includes Aromatherapy, Clinical Master Herbology, Clinical Nutrition, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, etc

2. Special Populations Trainer (includes chair yoga), Pre- and Post-Natal Fitness and Yoga, Seniors Fitness and Yoga, Post-Rehabilitation Fitness Specialist and Nutrition and Wellness

3. CN and CMH- Clinical Nutritionist and Master Herbologist with any TWO additional trainings from choice 2

Part of me feels that all the classes in choice 2 would serve my purpose best. However, the options 1 or 3 would make me a more rounded offering to studios, etc??

My purpose upon graduation from school is to be as portable and marketable as possible- I am an Army Wife. We move as often as every other year. So I need to be unique enough to land teaching jobs where I can. But most of the items in choice 2 are very very useful on a military base.
